On Friday, the 10th, Rebekah DeMorgan
sent us a baby shower in a box! It had SO many items in it! I’m so grateful for
her! She sent us SO much baby stuff that I’ll actually need! WOO HOO!

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve written
anything. It’s been a good few weeks. We had an appointment July 19 and got to
hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time! It’s so great to know that
everything is going wonderful and our little baby is growing and growing!
The week from July 22- July 28, I was in Miami with
Keegan. While he had to work, I enjoyed lounging by the pool, reading, and
pretty much doing whatever I pleased!
I enjoy times like that! I did get sick on our way back, though. That wasn’t
too fun. Draining nose, sore throat, YUCK!
My grandma has been in the hospital since July
20/21. She went in for a UTI and ended up with pneumonia, kidneys shutting
down, and congestive heart failure. She’s now in Albuquerque in a specialty
hospital. This is after almost 5 days of being in the intensive care unit.
She’s doing better, but still has a long way to go. This hospital stay is going
to be a long one. We went to see her this last weekend (August 4) and she knew
who we were immediately! That was nice. She also remembered that Anthony and I
were having our first babies! She’s so excited to get 2 great grandchildren!
OH! I’ve been reading and noticed I didn’t write
anything about Anthony & Verity expecting their first baby! THEY ARE! We
are so thrilled that our babies will be so close in age and they’ll get to grow
up together! Verity is 11 weeks and I am 14! We are SO HAPPY! Such a huge
blessing!
I am also ALWAYS hungry! Oh my goodness! I can
snack ALL day! NO wonder I look like I’m 6 months pregnant rather than nearly
4! (Everyone says I look fine and I don’t look like I’m carrying a huge baby,
but I feel rather large!)

Well, we’ve started telling extended family about
our little baby!
That’s what we’ve been emailing everyone! Everyone is excited to meet sweet Baby
Usher!
I am 11 weeks and 3 days, the baby is about the
size of a plum. (They refer to produce when it comes to the baby?) I’ve been
feeling really well. I’m always hungry?! It’s crazy! Luckily I haven’t gained a
pound for a few weeks! Whew!
This week, we have woken up at 5:15ish to go
walking. SO far, so good . . . but it’s only Tuesday! Ha! I’m really tired. I
take a short nap at lunch then at my break. But sometimes, it’s not good
enough! Other than that, things have been going well.
I did have this weird sharp pain on my left side
this morning as I stretched and yawned. I put it in my questions to ask the
doctor about! THAT! I have to remember to add on and take with me! I had tons
of questions for our first appointment, and forgot to ask! SO, I’m starting a
question log! Gotta remember!

Well, I’ve been thinking of starting a “Pregnancy
Journal” for a few days and have finally decided to just do it! I’ll try from
the beginning…as much as I can remember.
May 17-
I’ve been feeling weird for a few weeks. Getting
nauseated every day at about noon and my tummy had this weird sore feeling. So
I decide to take a pregnancy test—it was positive! One pink line was lighter
than the other, but I knew it! So many emotions flooded me! I was nervous and
excited! I was extremely shaky! I called Keegan in to look at the test, we
decided to go to the doctors before making anything official. We went in and
took another pee test at the doctor’s office, and it was negative! I was shocked.
I really couldn’t even talk to the nurse who wasn’t being very helpful to begin
with. So we went back to work. That day was miserable. Just miserable. So when
I got home, I took another test and it was more positive than the first time!
Both lines immediately shot up to a hot pink color! I knew it!
May 21-
Went back to the doctor’s to get an “official”
test. POSITIVE! That’s right, mean nurse! That’s right! We made our first
prenatal appointment for May 23.
May 23-
Not what I expected at all. A lovely RN met with us
and gave us a bunch of papers. She went over the medical history, what to
expect, what vitamins to take. It was very informative, but just not what I was
expecting. We then made our 1st
real appointment for June 26!
Since about May, I was getting nauseated at
different times of the day and only threw up 3 times! Woo hoo! The worst,
however, was in the middle of this delicious dinner, my mother-in-law made. All
of a sudden, it came to me and I had to excuse myself for the bathroom. L A delicious dinner I couldn’t finish
all because I was feeling icky!
We told Keegan’s parents first, because they live
right next to us. I wanted to see my mom and dad in person to tell them so we
told them in person May 22. My mom was so excited! She’s been wanting a
grandbaby since…well, it’s been a long time. We didn’t want our extended family
to know because my brother was in the middle of Infantry school in Georgia. We
told Keegan’s brother that week and my brother when he got back from Georgia,
which was June 8th!
Since we found out about Baby Usher, I have only
gained about 2 pounds, but find myself unable to fit into my pants and most
tops! Hmph! I also have become a very greasy person. I find 1 or 2 new pimples
on my face a day! Not so pleasant! But, it’s all for the greater good of Baby
Usher! I’m constantly tired, but taking naps is more acceptable, and I LOVE
naps!
Our friends and most of our extended family do not
know about the baby, just yet! Although, I want to shout it from the roof-tops!
We’ll start telling everyone…eventually! ;)
June 26, we had our 1st ultrasound done!
Baby Usher waved at us! I keep calling the baby a “him,” so does Aunty Janna!
So, we’ll see. We were at 9 weeks 2 days when we had the ultra sound, so Baby
Usher was the size of a peanut! You can definitely tell it was a peanut baby!
<3 SO cute! The new estimated due date is January 26!
Today, July 5th and we are at 10 weeks 5
days. I’m starting to feel a hard belly right under my belly button, so the
baby is definitely moving up a little. I no longer feel pregnant…minus the fact
that I’m breaking out like a 13 year old and I’m always tired.
The things I can’t wait for is a big belly! I know
it sounds crazy! But I feel weird being in this in-between stage where I look
like I’ve just gained weight rather than a baby! SO! I want some justification!
And to see that there is, in fact, a baby in there! I also can’t wait to feel
the kicking and such. We’ve decided not to find out the sex of the baby and
make it a nice surprise for mom and dad. We can’t wait to meet Baby Usher!
